This collection carries the arms of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem — knights riding beneath the green cross, the walls of Jerusalem behind them.
Why the Cross Is Green
The eight-pointed cross is a shape shared by several Orders — it is the colour that names them. Red for the Templars. White for the Knights of Saint John. Black for the Teutonic Knights. And green for Saint Lazarus.
This Order was not founded on a battlefield. It grew around a hospital in Jerusalem built to care for those whom no one else would touch. Knights who fell ill did not leave the crusade — they joined this Order and went on riding under its cross. Green was the colour of that calling, and it still is.
Jacquard woven, never printed. The design is woven into 100% cotton thread by thread — it is the fabric, not a layer on top of it. Reversible, and made to be handed down. Three sizes: 52" × 37" for the wall, 60" × 50" as a throw, 80" × 60" for the bed. Woven and shipped in the USA, made to order.
