What “jacquard woven” actually means
The technique is named after Joseph-Marie Jacquard, who unveiled his loom in 1804. Instead of printing an image on top of cloth, a jacquard loom builds the image inside the cloth — lifting and lowering individual cotton threads so that different colored yarns surface at exactly the right point to form the pattern.
In other words: the picture you see is not a layer added afterward. It is the structure of the fabric itself.
The design isn’t on the fabric. The design IS the fabric.
From artwork to thread
Every CalmNestStyle design begins as art — a cross, an icon, a Templar motif. That artwork is translated into a weave pattern the loom can read. Then the loom interlaces colored 100% cotton yarns, one row at a time, until the full design is built into the cloth.
Because the image is woven from both sides, the blanket is fully reversible — the design appears on the front and the back. There is no “printed side” and “blank side.”
